These programs are co-located at the Gulf Coast Kids House, the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center and the Santa Rosa Kids House.

The Child Protection Team

This team actually diagnoses child abuse in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties. Nurses, social workers and medical professionals provide physical and sexual abuse exams and forensic interviews.

The Child Protection Team provided services to 2,279 abused children in 2006. Funded by The State of Florida Department of Health, Children’s Medical Service, the McMillan Fund, VOCA and Walton and Okaloosa Counties.

Case Advocates

In partnership with the Child Protection Team case advocates follow up with victims of violence for link and referral for critical recovery services, advocacy for victim compensation and support groups for teens witnessing domestic violence. Funded by Victims of Crime Act (VOCA).
