Michael came to 90Works due to a scary turn of events. He and his family had found out he has Mixoid Lyposarcoma, a rare form of cancer. Their funds quickly depleted and they faced eviction. That's when Mike and his wife walked into 90Works and asked for help. Once at 90Works, our entire team trouble-shooted the situation. Their landlord was worked with to keep the family in their home. While building a case plan together, it was determined Mike needed to be linked with the VA, with an advocate that would apply for benefits for him, transportation needs, and any services needed. With the help of 90Works, the Mabrey family is stable, their strength is strong and hopeful for the future.

Mr. Burton was a homeless veteran living in woods. He had no income to meet basic needs, no transportation, no friends or family to assist him. His living conditions in the woods are dangerous and pose an imminent risk to his health.  Mr. Burton said “I’m used to walking, I walked here to Albany, GA from Charleston, South Carolina. I know it sounds crazy, but I did." Mr. Burton was holding a sign asking for help when he found 90Works. I was employed and housed on the same day. The Veteran stated, "I am greatly indebted to my case manager, Ms. Deborah, and all the folks at 90Works. I will do all I can to help my fellow Veterans the way I have been helped.” He has been doing well since being housed and has become self-sufficient. His employer stated that he is a wonderful employee and he can do anything he needs to be done. This Veteran is successfully housed and self-sufficient!
